E K (or E H) Bliven

Photographer:
E. K. Bliven
Paullina, Iowa

Although there seems to be much history about a Robert Henry Bliven of Ohio and Missouri, nothing has been found on E. K. Bliven.

Long after the cabinet card era, in 1949-1958 there was a photographer in Omaha, NB, Alert L. Bliven and wife Isabel K. Bliven. This tree was followed back and no siblings or cousins were found with the initials E. K. (OR E. H.) Bliven.

After six years of looking for another example of a cabinet card done by E K Bliven, no additional examples have been found. It's safe to say that Bliven was probably not in business very long, in Paullina, IA, at least.

Update May 2024. No additional information has been found on this card.

No searches have turned up anyone close to that name involved with photography.

Quite possiblly it is a fake.
