New examples and additional information are always welcome. Any additional information will help narrow the time that these precious antiques were made. All submissions should be free of glare and shadows. Do not crop. Leave a border around each card. The edges are sometimes an important clue to the age of the card.

Some examples on this page have been enhanced or restored for clarity and presentation here.

  2. I have a cabinet card of my great grandmother taken in 1891 (written on the back by her daughter, my grandmother). The card has the logo information on the bottom front: G.I.Pruden Extra Finish. Cortland, N.Y.

    1. Thanks! Your dated card would help others with similar card imprints. It would be a fine addition to the page. Please send a good scan or photo (including edges) of your card to the address in the profile at the bottom of this page. Thank you!

  3. I have a G.I Pruden Cabinet Card which is imprinted on the front with his studio in Homer, NY and a red logo. I know Cortland, NY is near Homer but I can't locate any time frame from the Homer location. Would you like a scan of this one? I suspect it's circa 1885-90.
