Le Rue Lemer
(15 Dec 1837 - 23 Dec 1920)

Le Rue Lemer was an active photographer at the same location, 206 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA. from about 1863 when he was discharged from the Union Army, until he retired about 1905.

John D Lemer
(1852 – 1931)

While brother Le Rue Lemer was consistently at 206 Market, John D Lemer moved around a lot. According to the Harrisburg, PA, city directories, J D Lemer had his own studio at 1215 North Third for nine years, from 1887 to 1895. Before and after that he apparently worked for other studios, probably his brother.

His studio was established sometime in 1886 with a partner, Charles C Schriver but that apparently only lasted about a year and Lemer was sole proprietor until 1895
