It appears that Wales Studio was in Keokuk, IA, only a short time
between around 1890 to 1900. The cabinet card here must have been
              finished then.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the lead! Every example helps!
DeleteI just ran across a card from Wales in Davenport. It is a little larger than the standard cabinet card, and is fresh as a daisy with the original glacine (sp) envelope. Was in a group of cards I purchased in west central Illinois some 20 years ago. Wales uses address 121 East 3rd. The photo is of a handsome dude in suit. He has a great mustache.
ReplyDeleteGood find! Here's a site that should help identifying the style of card: https://www.vintagephoto.com/reference/dating.html
