Charles F Moelk worked as a photographer all of his life starting at age 15. Most of that time, he worked as an employee at studios operated by someone else. And he moved several times: Ohio, Indiana, Missouri and Texas.

The CDV here must have been finished about 1886 during that short time Moelk was living in Edina, Missouri. Note also that the imprint on the card appears to be by rubber stamp. This could indicate a very temporary situation.
