Delancy A. Loomis was photographer in Fredonia, KS, from about 1878 to his death in 1910. He dabbled in local politics during the 1890’s.

US census reports show that D. A. Loomis was an active photographer from 1880 to 1900. There was little in the way of a city directory for Fredonia, KS, so there’s not much supporting evidence.

Delancy’s brother Frederick A Loomis was photographer in Cherryvale, KS, from 1881 to 1887 when the studio was destroyed by fire. He worked for his brother for a while after that in Fredonia, KS. He apparently had a studio in Salina, KS, during 1890. (Example at bottom of page.) Then finally he opened a gallery Emporia, KS, around 1898 and remained there until his death in 1936.

  1. I think this is where my great-grandparents had their wedding portrait done in 1892. James Edward Jones and Minnie Jones. She was only 16.
