Note three different imprint designs for the short time Mulvane would have been in Bennet, NE.

Also note the sloppy handling of the first example, with the imprint slanted on the card. This would result from not insuring the card was in the hand press straight before printing.

Ozro Mulvane moved around a lot. In tracing his whereabouts it was often necessary to settle only for where he wasn’t instead of establishing where he was.

Known locations as photographer
Kansas City, MO / 1899-1900
Lincoln, NE / circa 1900-1901
Hastings, NE / 1903 as photographer for G E Payne
Cedar Rapids, IA / 1905 - 1908 Jan 18
Deadwood, SD / 1908 Oct 12
Lead, SD / 1909 Jul 22 (Lead and Deadwood are only 3 miles apart)
Kansas City, MO, at 810 ½ Frederick / 1910 Feb to 1915
Kansas City, MO / 1919 (& possibly 1920) working for B Weatherwax
Butte, MT -/ 1921 - 1924
Chicago, IL / 1930 (probably working for someone else)

No documents have been found, so far, to fill in the gaps.

Nothing has been found to show when Mulvane was actually in Bennet, NE, but it was probably around the same time he was in Lincoln, N circa 1900. The towns are only 17 miles apart.

Also, the city directories for Lincoln, NE, in 1899 and 1900 do not list him. But those same years, two brothers, JD and Frank were living in nearby Raymond, NE, just 14 miles from Lincoln.

Note 19 Nov 1900 classified ad for sale of studio in Lincoln, NE.
