Stoneham, MA, state records, Addie M Gendron dies at age 49; Stoneham is just 10 miles north of Boston.

It is a good guess that the CdV example here, was done between 1872 and 1885. There are some other gaps in documenting the life of Addie M Gendron, but this period seems the most logical. Once moving to Massachusetts about 1885, it does not appear she ever left.

In the 1870 Syracuse, NY, city directory she is listed as a photographer. She was probably working for another photographer’s studio and started her own studio soon after that. In 1870 Addie would have been only 15. In the Rhode Island State census of 1875 she is listed as a photographer at age 25, while birth records show she would have been only 20. She may have had to “adjust” her age to get past some business regulations.

Westerly, RI city directory indicates she had a studio there between 1885 and 1888.

Addie Gendron ran her own studio as Gendron and Company, in Boston, until at least 1895 when she apparently moves to Stoneham, MA.
