Frank Perry Devenport

photographer: F P Devenport
Waxahachie, TX
Contributed by G. Mankins

Research on Devenport the photographer was hindered somewhat by the fact that the fact that the family tradition was to pass the names Perry and Frank on to the next generation. Hence, Frank Francois P. Devenport Davenier (1827-1910) named his son Perry Frank Devenport (1856-1927). Perry Frank Devenport (1856-1927) named his son, Frank Perry Devenport (1881-1963) who named his son also Frank Perry Devenport Jr. (1920-1997).

The photographer Perry who worked mainly in Waxahachie, TX, was Perry Frank Devenport (1856-1927).

His son, Frank Perry Devenport (1881-1963) was also a photographer but appears to have worked in Bowie, TX, around 1904 and then moved to Texarkana, Ark, around 1910. By 1917 Frank Perry Devenport (1881-1963) has moved to Texarkana, TX.
