Lozier Don Rice was a photographer from about 1910, age 20, to sometime in the 1940’s, when he retired because of illness. The Cabinet Card example shown here is a rarity in that the cabinet card format was all but a novelty after about 1900.

He worked with his father, Arthur Phoenician Rice in Wabash, IN until opening his own studio in North Manchester, IN. According to one obituary, L D Rice was ill for nine years before his death in 1952.

Since it rather unusual to see a cabinet card from those years, there is little possibility of dating the card other than placing it as some time during his career. He was apparently active from about 1920 to about 1940.

If more information becomes available, it will be added here.
