Model Gallery, MInneapolis, Kansas

example from LOST GALLERY

The Model Studio or Gallery operated under that name from about late 1896 to after 1911. Since the popularity of the cabinet card format was rapidly fading after 1900, one could estimate that cards stamped with Model Gallery or Model Studio were probably made between 1896 and 1900.

The studio apparently changed hands at least three times, ending up in the care of H G Cole from 1897 on.

The newspaper items tell the story pretty well. The newspaper items all use the term “Gallery” except the one dated 11 Feb 1897 which tells of improvements to the “Studio.”

When more information is discovered, it will be added here.
