St Peter, MN, state records, George Ribble dies at age 71
George Henry Ribble was in the photography business from about 1874 on. He worked for other studios and finally opened his own gallery in St Peter, MN, in about 1895. He died after a long illness in 1921. The surviving cabinet card examples from his studio were likely done around 1900.
Very few mentions were found for G H Ribble in St Peter, MN, newspapers of the time. Apparently, he seldom advertised and the local newspaper did not employ the usual "gossipy" sort of journalism that was prevalant in those years around the turn of the century.
Four separate imprint designs have been found so far. Perhaps an example will be found that is also owner dated. This will give a clue to when that design was used.
