Rice Studio continues in business at 525 13th managed by one of the ten (12 by some accounts) siblings, until 1930. There are no more city directory listing after that.

The cabinet card here must have been done in that short period between 1870 and 1871 when the studio address was 905 Pennsylvania Av , in Washington DC

Davis Mahan was an active photographer in Pittsburgh, PA, for 40 years. His longest established studio location was at 43 Fifth Street, from 1875 to 1895. The cabinet card at the left must have been finished during that time.

Here is a bit from a researcher: “His daughter Millicent carried on the family tradition when Davis died in 1905. She and a partner Richard C Wright opened Mahan and Wright photography in McKees Rocks, Pa where Davis passed his last years.” See example at bottom of page!
