It is only speculation to explain why the card featured here has the initials E M S instead of A J S.
It is possible that when A J Stroud branched out and was operating a gallery in Chase, KS, and possible others cities, that Etta continued to operate the studio in Hutchinson under her own name.
The Strouds separated sometime around 1902. It is possible that Etta continued to operate the Hutchinson gallery for a short time on her own after Alfred left the state.
Either way, the date of the card must fall between 1891 and about 1900.
