Alston E. Hotchkiss (4 May 1846 - 26 Nov 1907)
A. E. Hotchkiss was a little older that most of the cabinet card era
photographers. Many were born within five years of 1860.
There is documentation to show Hotchkiss worked as a photographer in
Norwich, NY from 1875 to 1880. Another source says he began his career
in Norwich, NY in 1873.
Some of the Hotchkiss Cabinet Cards are dated in the photographer's
imprint. (See example below)
He also sold stereo photographs.
An ESTIMATE of his working years, all in Norwich, NY, would be 1873
through about 1900. He died in 1902.
