Some documents say that Theodore Lilienthal (the elder) died this date in Hennepin, MN. So far, nothing has been found to support this location.

There is some confusion, caused by one of Louis Lilienthal’s sons was named Theodore after his grandfather Theodore. In fact, this causes confusion on Julius and Louis also as the names were carried on in more than one generation. The two main photographers seem to be Theodore (1829-1894) and his son Louis Hitcher Lilienthal (1846-1891)
