There are no examples of the work of W H Baker of Saratoga Springs,
NY, in LOST GALLERY. The research here is to see if there was any
connection to the W H Baker of Barnesvill, OH, or perhaps to Baker Art
Gallery of Columbus, OH.
Apparently there is not.

Not sure of the actual dimensions of this example.
It appears to be a later example
of embossed card mounts.

The Art Institute of Chicago has a collection of photographs by WH Baker/ Baker and Record, of Saratoga Springs NY. There was also a W.H. Baker photographer in Downers Grove IL. Do you know if he, or his son, continued with a photography studio in Illinois?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the question. I looked back on my notes for this photographer and found nothing to connect this Baker with Downers Grove, IL. I did a search of Downers Grove newspapers and found a W H Baker that was apparently a grocer in the early 1890’s. Ancestry.com shows a photographer W H Baker in Beaufort, North Carolina in the early 1900’s. Also there was W H Baker of Barnesville, OH on another page in this blog. If I find anything more in Illinois, I will post an addition on this page.
