With no city directories or newspaper files available for that part of New York, a clear description of the photography life of Edmond Daggett is not possible.

It can be said that Daggett was photographer from about 1860 to 1899. He worked with the Ambrotype and Daguerreotype processes early on. Cabinet cards would have come from the later part of his career, perhaps the last 15 years.

And in general, the cabinet card format began around 1865.

This is a work always in progress.

Additional information and new examples are always welcome. Any additional information will help narrow the time that these precious antiques were made.

All submissions should be free of glare and shadows.
Do not crop.
Leave a border around each card. The edges are sometimes an important clue to the age of the card.
