James Henry Proctor and his son Edward were photographers in Girard and nearby towns for most of their careers. James moved to Omaha, NE, some time between 1896 and 1900. His son, Edward lived in Girard, KS, Omaha, NE, and Neosho, MO.
While they both lived in Girard, KS, the newspaper ads often only mentioned the studio by the name “Proctor” leaving it unknown if it was for James Henry or Edwin L Proctor. They both moved around the Girard town square a couple times, so ads place them, for example, at “North Side of square” or “East side of Square”
