The cabinet cards shown here were probably finished around 1895 to 1897 when the studio was at that address.

The 44 Front address is a little harder to document. It could have been a “branch” studio at any time of course, while the main studio was at 503 Main, for instance. The documents say that Hevy apparently retires from photography in 1909, leaves Worcester and photography and turns to farming.

The popularity of the cabinet card format was beginning to fade in 1900 and other formats were being adopted. The folder style, with various types of mountings, was cheaper, much faster and easier to use than the blank cards. So unless Hevy was experimenting with the new folders earlier than most photographers, this was done after 1900.

A good guess then, would date the photograph folder at between 1900 and 1909 when Hevy retired.

Multiple newspaper ads indicate that there were several business offices at 44 Front Street in Worcester. Nothing was found to tell exactly when Hevy had a studio there.
