W B Cuyler

W. B. Cuyler (1846 - 1925) began photography in 1870 at the age of 24 continuing in this single occupation until his death in 1925. Around September of 1908 Cuyler moved from Greenfield, IN, to Indianapolis, IN.

It appears that W B Cuyler spent most of his business career in and around Greenfield and Indianapolis, Indiana. Although the date of his move from Greenfield to Indianapolis is a bit cloudy it must have been between 1908 and 1909.

Although he moved a number of times, it is pretty clear where W E Dolk had his studio from 1904 to his death in 1940. Before that time it is less certain, but he can be placed in Rockford, IL, by a series of ads he ran in April and May of in the Chicago Inter Ocean newspaper for his studio at 116 Merchant, Rockford.

The cabinet card here must have been finished about 1890 when Dolk was in Rockford, IL.

The partnership didn't last long. By the following year, the studio was called "Dolk and Curtis and located at 3 e Market
