from “C G” to “Charles G” to “Carl G” and back, all at the same
address as a photographer.
In the years following 1903, there are a number of listings for Carl G
Anderson and Charles G Anderson in the Kansas City, MO, city
directories with several different occupations but there is no way of
telling if this is the same person. And C G Anderson hasn’t been found
in any other city directory as photographer.
He has not turned up in any photography journals of that period,
before or after his five years in the business. Very few other
examples of his work have been found.
It is only speculation at this point but it looks as if those
five years might have been C G Anderson’s only time in the photography
business.
His life prior to his appearance in the 1896 Kansas City, MO,
directory is a mystery too. No biographical information has been
found.
