Although the life and photographic career of A K A Liebich was relatively short, he started young, at age 14.

A K A Liebich’s father, Moritz Liebich, worked as artist for the gallery of W C North at 211 Superior, beginning in 1866. In 1870 Arthur K A Liebich, his son, age 14, joins W C North as photographer. Both father and son continue with the North gallery until about 1876 or 1877.

The 1877 Cleveland city directory lists the Arthur K A Liebich gallery at 135 ½ Champlain with Moritz as artist at same.

The 1878 Cleveland city directory lists the Liebich gallery at 174 Ontario. In 1881 the studio has moved to 344 Ontario where it remains until 1892.

In 1892 the Liebich studio has moved to 80-86 Euclid. (also listed as “Euclid av cor Handy”) The Liebich gallery remains at that address until 1905.

After the death of A K A Liebich, the Husposka Brothers take over the gallery keeping the Liebich Gallery name. In 1907 the gallery is listed at 1841 Euclid and then in 1913 at “Cor E 19th and Euclid.

There are no listings Liebich Gallery after 1913.
