It appears there was more than one "New York Gallery" in San
Francisco, CA. And/or perhaps more than one proprietor.
So far LOST GALLERY has found a "New York Gallery" at 25 Third,
operated by B. F. Howland. Another source says that the New York
gallery was at 25 Third and was operated by J H Peters. Another card
found lists 25 Third Street, operated by Sewell and Hucks
Research ongoing, suggestions welcome

ReplyDeleteReally hard to answer without more information. There was a photographer during the 1870's named Hector W Vaughn in San Francisco, CA.
DeleteLooking up to see when J.H. Peters was working in San Francisco, I found this sad article .... https://cdnc.ucr.edu/?a=d&d=SDU18960306.2.63&e=-------en--20--1--txt-txIN--------1
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! I will add this to the page! Good research!
